TLC 2013
Yes, I am a few minutes late with this tonight...
Pre-show: Ziggler vs Fandango... Fandango got the win.
Match#1- C.M. Punk vs the Shield... C.M. Punk got the win. This was a 3 on 1 handicap match, and I have to say, the main reason I got the ppv. It was a short match, part because Roman Reigns ended up with an eye injury. I wasn't happy with the outcome obviously, it dampened the whole ppv for me.
Match#2- women's didn't watch
Match #3- Damien Sandow vs Big E for the Intercontinental title. Big E won keeping his title. I was really thinking that Sandow was going to score on this...not happy.
Match #4- The Fatal Four-Way for the Tag Team titles. Real Americans vs Rhodes Family vs Big Show/Mysterio vs Axel/Ryback. The first to be eliminated were Axel/Ryback, then Golddust used the Canadian Destroyer, just before the Real Americans were eliminated. This came down to Cody and Mysterio, and Cody Rhodes managed to get the win and they kept the tag titles.
Crap! I was sort of cheering for Cesaro and Swagger on this one.
As much as I love any reason to see Brad Maddox on the screen, I really could have done without the whole backstage dancing doll crap.
Match #5- Brodus Clay vs R-Truth. Truth got the win on this. We also saw what looks like the end of ToF...thank god! I don't understand why they continue to call Xavier Woods a rookie when he has more ring time then Brodus does given his past in other companies.
Match #6- Kofi Kingston vs the Miz... Kofi managed to get the win on this. Even with a bad leg.
Match #7- Daniel Bryan vs the Wyatt Family... another 3 on 1 handicap match. Bray Wyatt got the pin for the win here, after his horror show and the crowd chanting "that was creepy"
Main Event- Cena vs Orton in a traditional TLC match. At one point, Randy Orton hit John Cena with a microphone, then tucked it into his shorts like holstering a gun or something. Anyone else find that strange and a bit disturbing? Orton ended up getting the belts and becoming the Undisputed title holder.
Okay, so ppvs are obviously a hit and miss. No one ever likes everything every time. Tonight, I was disappointed by most of it. But, I'm always upset when the Shield loose.

Pre-TLC 2013
This is the point in the week when I make my comments about the upcoming ppv. This weekend is Tables Ladders Chairs.
The list so far...
Pre-show : Dolph Ziggler vs Fandango... I am thinking Ziggler has this wrapped up.
Intercontinental Championship: Big E vs Damien Sandow... vote is in Sandow's corner.
Daniel Bryan vs the Wyatt Family in a 3 on 1 Handicap match... the underdog Bryan is going to come out on top.
C.M. Punk vs the Shield in a 3 on 1 Handicap match... Shield me! It's all about the Shield, and I think that it's going to be Seth Rollins who gets the final pin for the win.
Cena vs Randy Orton for the championship... in a traditional TLC match. Okay, I'm one of those fans who has a strange pit in my stomach on this match. I don't like it. I know it's going to change the way the company is viewed and how important the winner truly is, but dude, it just sort of feels off.
I think Cena is going to come out on top for this one. I hope that the Undisputed belt is better designed then the current tag team belts, cause they are just un-pretty.
You know what else I'd love to see...after Damien Sandow wins that Intercontinental belt, for Seth Rollins to challenge him for it. That belt would be perfect on Rollins!

Loved and Hated Survivor Series 2013
Once again, here's what I loved and hated about the ppv tonight...
Pre-show: Miz vs Kofi Kingston. Well, it took way too long to actually get to the match. Under 15 minutes in the countdown pre-show, and they still hadn't started the match. Miz got the win.
First match- Traditional 5 on 5 match. Rey Mysterio/Usos/Rhodes brothers vs Shield/the Real Americans. Sitting here hoping that the Shield turn on the Authority tonight. Dean Ambrose was the first to be eliminated by Cody Rhodes. That put me in a crap mood. Swagger was eliminated, but I didn't see by who. Cesaro was eliminated by Cody. This left it a 5 on 2 -Rollins and Reigns were left on the Shield's team. Jimmy Uso was eliminated by Reigns. Cody was eliminated by Reigns. Jay Uso was eliminated by Rollins. This left it as a two on two. Seth Rollins was eliminated by Mysterio. This left it a two on one- Golddust and Mysterio vs Roman Reigns. Golddust was eliminated by Reigns. This became a one on one. With Roman Reigns getting the win. Glad to see at lest someone from the Shield survived. Would have liked to see Ambrose and Rollins come back out to celebrate, but...
Second match- Intercontinental championship match. Curtis Axel vs Big E. Big E got the win. Crap! I was screaming at the tv for Axel to cheat if he had to to get the title back. Damn it! Not happy.
Third match- women's - didn't watch.
Fourth match- Ryback vs Mark Henry. This went to Henry.
Fifth match- Cena vs Del Rio. Cena got the pin and kept his Heavyweight title.
Sixth match- Wyatt Family vs C.M. Punk/Daniel Bryan. Punk managed to get the pin.
Main event- Orton vs Big Show. Orton got the win and keeps his WWE title.
Okay, so what would I like to see become the fall out of this ppv? I would like to see Rollins and Reigns get their tag titles back, Axel get the Intercontinental championship back, the Shield turn on the Authority, and Cesaro to split from Swagger. I think that Cesaro is the one man who could give Dean Ambrose a wicked feud.
Everyone has their favourites, and right now most of mine- besides the Shield- are in NXT.(at the time of this posting, Corey Graves, Leo Kruger, Sami Zayn, Enzo Amore, Tyler Breeze) I think I said it once before, but it would be cool to see NXT get their own ppv, or at lest a few matches on one of the ppvs. As I said in my last post the other day, this ppv could have been a great chance to have had some of the NXT guys in a traditional Survivor Series match. I think it was a mistake not going that route.
Really hated the "backstage" crap. Would like to have one ppv where there is no backstage crap.

2013 Survivor Series pre thoughts
The day before the yearly Survivor Series pay-per-view. What do I have to say about it? Not much.
Let's see, we've got the typical players... Cena vs Del Rio, Orton vs Big Show, C.M.Punk and Daniel Bryan - who are going against the Wyatts. Curtis Axel vs Big E, the Miz vs Kofi, and a big traditional match with all the tag teams.
So what do I think will happen? Cena will win, Big Show will win, the Wyatts will win, Axel will win, Kofi will win, and the Shield will be left standing on their team's side.
What would I like to see happen?
I'd like to see all three members of the Shield standing tall at the end of the traditional match. I would also like to see some other NXT guys invade the show. This could have been a perfect chance to bring in some of the NXT wrestlers as a traditional team. If this was me planning the show, I would have had Leo Kruger, Corey Graves, Sami Zayn, Tyler Breeze and Enzo Amore as team NXT vs the Shield, Cesaro and Punk as team WWE.
And what happened to Kassius Ohno? Little pissed to hear he isn't in the company anymore.
Till after the ppv,

Random talking about...
Tag Teams.
Survivor Series is this weekend, and with all the talk about teams, I got thinking about tag teams in general.
In the last year and a half, the tag team divisions in the two biggest companies WWE and TNA, have gone through some major ups and downs. Here's my personal list of current top 5 tag teams in the two companies.
1. Shield members Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. (WWE)
2. Eric Young and Joseph Park (TNA)
3. Bad Influence : Kaz and Christopher Daniels (TNA)
4. The Usos (WWE)
5. Cesaro and Swagger (WWE)
I love Eric Young. I think he doesn't get enough air time, and pairing him up with Park, you get the perfect balance of talent and comedy. They know how to work well together and how to keep the story going even when there really isn't much of a story for them to work with.
Bad Influence... one of the few tag teams on television that seems to have a real chemistry. You know when they are in a match, you're in for pure wrestling.
The Real Americans...okay they are on this list for one reason and one reason only. CESARO!
The Usos. I have to admit, it's taken a really long time for me to get into these guys. For all the talent they have, there is still something missing for me.
Rollins and Reigns. WHY HAVEN'T THEY GOTTEN THEIR BELTS BACK? Top of my list, and you would think the easiest to talk about given they are my favourites, but as I sit here all I can think is why don't these two have gold at the moment? Possibly one of the best tag teams in the last five years, they surprised me. In the beginning, when the Shield came on the scene, I thought they were going to section Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose as tag partners for the titles, giving Roman Reigns the United States title, but in a very brilliant turn, they partnered Rollins and Reigns and not only does it work completely, it makes sense. Between the cruiser weight style and ability of Rollins, and the grounded strength of Reigns, you've got the entire system from back to front. Before anything else happens to the Shield, Rollins and Reigns need to hold tag gold once more.
And just for the hell of it...
Two tag teams I would love to see get back together for one more match against each other, are TNA's MotorCityMachine Guns! and Beer Money. I think when you mention tag teams of the last decade, both those teams come screaming to mind.

Loved and Hated about ...
WWE's Battleground.
Pre-show- Damien Sandow vs Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler got the win after Sandow tweaked his knee. It was a good match, just a bit short for my tastes. Then again, I always find the pre-show matches to be a bit on the short side. A half hour show and the majority of it is recaps of the past week/month and about 9 minutes is a match. I would have at lest 25 minutes of that half hour for a match.
Pay-per-view Proper-
first match- RVD vs Del Rio for the Heavyweight title. This is a hardcore match. Everyone was talking about how this was designed for RVD, but think about it, that just means Del Rio had 20 years of RVD footage to study.
Del Rio got the win by a submissions move, and kept his title. I loved that.
second match- Great Khali/Santino vs Real Americans. (added since my last post few days ago) And it went to the Real Americans. Thanks to Cesaro. Who, I think was the only decent wrestler in that match. Why isn't Cesaro in title feuds?
third match- Curtis Axel vs R-Truth for the Intercontinental title. I originally thought this was a non-title, seems it's a title match. Axel won, keeping his title. Yeah.
fourth match- women's match...I took a bathroom break didn't watch.
fifth match- Rhodes Family vs Shield. This is the reason I got the ppv. Have to say, the little kid that molested Dean Ambrose as they were coming to the ring, that had me laughing. I've admitted that I was torn on this, as everyone knows that I love the Shield, but I really wanted to see the Rhodes win. I also really really really want the Shield to turn on Orton and the bosses.
The Rhodes Family got the win. They won their jobs back. Good match. Now, if Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose would just listen to my begging and turn on everyone then I would be really happy.
The Brad Maddox...always good to see him get some airtime. Someone give him a character on Bold and the Beautiful, please! Even for like one episode...
sixth match- Kofi Kingston vs Bray Wyatt (added since my last post few days ago) I love the Wyatts.
After doing his impression of Linda Blair in the Exorcist and crawling upside-down, Wyatt got the pin. Seriously, I looked up from my coffee cup and was like what the hoofers was that? when I saw him doing that crawl. Dude, that takes skill.
seventh match- CM Punk vs Ryback. Punk got the win with a low blow. Glad Punk got the win, with any means necessary.
main event- Daniel Bryan vs Randy Orton for the WWE title. And no one won. Big Show came out and punched both guys and the ref and the second ref.
Not happy with that ending.
Love Ardeth Blood.

Pre-Thinking Battleground
So the brand new WWE pay-per-view, Battleground is this weekend. I said I'd come in and give some thoughts on it before hand, my usual predictions. So here goes.
Pre-show- Dolph Ziggler vs Damien Sandow... I'm not too sure I have much to say on this? It on the surface seems like a really strange feud to me. On the surface. But the pre-show is free everywhere which means people who might not buy the ppv will be able to at lest tune in online to this match. Really really great exposure for both men. And given Ziggler is in the main storylines currently, and Sandow is the only money in the bank holder, this could be an excellent 5minutes of air for both. I'm giving this to Sandow.
Curtis Axel vs R-Truth. This is a non-title match, which means R-Truth is where we should be thinking to put our money. But I'm personally cheering for Axel simply because I think he's a better wrestler. And he's got Heyman in his corner to add weight to the situation...no pun intended.
World Heavyweight champ Del Rio vs RVD in a hardcore match. Ugh, personally, I want to see Del Rio win this. I'm voting Del Rio.
CM Punk vs Ryback. You know I'm torn on this one. I want Punk to win it by any means necessary, but with Heyman as the main ingredient in this cocktail, things are going to get spilled on the floor.
Daniel Bryan vs Randy Orton for the WWE title. I think by now 98% of the fans want Bryan to get it and keep it.
Rhodes Family vs Shield members Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns the current Tag Team Champions. I think this is what 97% of fans will be getting the ppv for. I think. Given that at the time of this posting, (two days before the ppv) the third Shield member Dean Ambrose and current United States Champion is to be assumed in the Shield's corner, and does not have a match himself, I see it breaking down to a 6 man elimination or something. Would be nice to finally see that 2/3 falls submission match for the Shield I keep begging for... And as much as I love the Shield, and I do love the Shield, I think everyone and their dog's grandmother wants to see the Rhodes Family get the win. Though, me personally, I always want to see the Shield win, this is one time I have to vote for the other team.
Think of the feud it could lead to on Smackdown between the Shield and the Rhodes Family after this ppv...that would stir up the pot in the tag division wouldn't it?
okay, that's my thoughts on this Friday morning before a new launched ppv.

Two pay-per-views in One month
Bad idea.
Basically, unless you are such a die hard that you get every ppv every month for everything, be it the WWE or TNA or ROH or MMA or UFC or what have you, the majority of fans will have to choose one ppv this month for WWE.
Battleground vs Hell in a Cell.
That right there sounds like a ppv in itself, doesn't it?
I came in here ready to rant I really did. But as I type this now, I'm not sure I even care? I remember a time when you had 3 ppvs in a year and they were EVENTS! Now, things just seem so watered down.
Anyways, that's my thoughts on it this morning. I'll be back later in the week with my usual "what I hope happens at the ppv".

What I loved and hated about ....
The Night of Champions 2013
preshow- round one was 3MB vs Tons of Funk....My prediction was 3MB making round one, but I was wrong. Tons of Funk (I hate that name) got the round.
Round two- Tons of Funk vs Real Americans... it went to Real Americans
Round three-Real Americans vs Usos...it went to the Real Americans...
Round four- Real Americans vs Prime Time Players... it went to Prime Time Players. This means that the Prime Time Players will go against Shield members Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.
I really thought it was going to come down to the Usos vs Shield. When I saw them get tossed by the Real Americans, my mind was like "oh okay." The Prime Time Players getting the spot sort of threw me.
First match of the main show- Curtis Axel vs Kofi Kingston for the Intercontinental Championship. Set as a last minute match. My money was on Axel. And I picked right, Curtis Axel managed to get the pin and keep his title.
Second match- women's match...didn't watch.
Third match- RVD vs Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship. RVD got the win on a dq but Del Rio kept his title.
Fourth match- Fandango vs Miz. The Miz got the win with the figure four causing Fandango to tap.
Fifth match-Curtis Axel with Heyman vs CM Punk. Axel tapped out, forcing Heyman to have to get into the ring. and Ryback came out to save Heyman, giving Heyman the win for his half of the match.
Hated Ryback getting in there. Would have liked to see it be cleanly done.
Shield me!
Sixth match- Shield member Dean Ambrose vs Dolph Ziggler for the United States title. Ambrose kept his belt, and did it clean! Ha-ha! Love it.
Seventh match- Shield members Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns vs the Prime Time Players for the Tag Team titles. Rollins/Reigns got the win, cleanly and kept their titles. Very very happy. Love it love it!
Main Event- Daniel Bryan vs Randy Orton for the WWE Championship. Well, Bryan got the win with a pin off of a hard flying knee, and a quick count.
I was glad to see Bryan get the win and the title. And by my count, this was the only title change of the night.

What I would love to see at WWE's...
Night of Champions 2013
This post came about because of a few things. A) other fans on GetGlue being pissed about the state of some of their former favourites becoming heels B) I love the Shield C) my family complaining that "it's not fair" what's going on in the CM Punk/Heyman storyline right now D) I love the Shield E) would love to see some more NXT guys get a push and F) I love the Shield.
Okay, so here's what I'd love to see happen at the ppv this weekend
The NXT titles should be in the mix. I know NXT is taped a few weeks in advance, so as of the last episode I saw on tv (week of Friday Sept 6th) Graves/Neville were the Tag Champs, and Bo Dallas was the NXT champ. So going on that information, I would love to see a number one contenders match for the NXT Tag titles, and Sami Zayn vs Leo Kruger with the winner going against Antonio Cesaro for the number one contender's spot for the NXT title.
... The Shield at the time of this posting (5:30pm EST Monday about three hours before tonight's Raw) do not have a match scheduled at the ppv. Which is fine. I like those pieces of shinny on them. But... I would love to see... Dean Ambrose take on Damien Sandow for his Money in the Bank case, which should have been Ambrose's to begin with in my frealing opinion.
I think there should be a number one contenders match for the Tag Team belts. I think I've said this before. OR better yet in a non-title match, have the Shield's Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns go against the Wyatt Family... or have all three members of the Shield vs the three members of the Wyatt Family in a six man 2/3 falls submission match....yeah, I still want to see the Shield in a 2/3 falls submission match and will keep asking till I see it.
Here's a thought, Seth Rollins vs CM Punk in a number one contender's match for Curtis Axel's Intercontinental Championship... that would rock! Or wouldn't the World Heavyweight Championship look spiffy on Roman Reigns? Maybe he should go up against Del Rio for that title? Which of course would mean that Ambrose would basically have to turn on current WWE Champion Randy Orton to take his title.
Seriously, Night of Champions ppv, if Daniel Bryan manages to win over Orton, Seth Rollins could easily score over him...I believe.
For the WWE title...I think Bryan will defeat Orton. Right before the Shield turn on Orton.
For the World Heavyweight title... I think Del Rio will keep his title.
For the Intercontinental title... I think Punk will win, via a dq giving him a chance to destroy Heyman but Axel keeping the title.
So to recap, I want the Shield to keep their belts for another few months, until Survivor Series, and for NXT to get a push, and for the Shield to turn on Randy Orton/Triple H.

Let's put that on a sticker
By now, you know that I love the social site GetGlue. I've talked about it more then a few times. I've talked about the interaction with other fans of not just wrestling, but everything. I've also talked about which wrestlers I'd like to see get their face on a sticker. (Right here)
And guess what...I have no clue if anyone actually listened to me, but Wade Barrett and the Shield have been given stickers...yay.
So why the silly post today? Why not?
The big "topic" or gimmick as it were depending on whom you're talking to, is the whole "but you're pretty" thing that WWE is pulling right now with Bryan vs Orton.
I'm not kidding. More people I've talked to in the last week and a half have talked about nothing but. Now, if you've read me at all over the years, you know I'm not silent about who I think in the business is good looking. (total understatement)
I get that with Cena and Sheamus out at the moment with injuries, and Kane doing a movie, someone had to get the push to keep a storyline going with Bryan. Orton does seem the logical given he had the money in the bank case.
But pretty? Maybe.
Storyline aside, here's who I'd love to see on the next ppv poster (which is always the biggest sticker on GetGlue that everyone and their dog's grandmother wants.)
-Seth Rollins -
Yeah, I know, he has a sticker (with Roman Reigns as tag champs) for the Night of Champions series, but I'm talking the poster sticker. But wait, I have a real point here...in my mind it's a real point...who really says the face of wrestling in the last few years?
I get why they would be using Orton, for the simple fact that he fits the storyline, and he's been in the business long enough that even the casual viewer can see his picture and say "right wrestling."
But what about the rest of us?
To me Randy Orton does not say the identifying factor that is wrestling. I personally would much rather see a ppv poster sporting Corey Graves, Leo Kruger, Kassius Ohno, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, Wade Barrett, Antonio Cesaro... do you see where I'm going with this?
and Seth Rollins is ...pretty.

Random wrestling thoughts for Aug 15th
TNA...
Blah. I literally spent 3 days on a power binge watching three months worth of TNA Impact episodes on Spike website, in order to catch up.
First item. HAIL SABIN! I can not say how happy I was to see that Heavyweight belt finally on Mr. Sabin. Let's hope he's allowed to keep it for awhile.
Second, the X-Division getting the big push in the last few months. That brought a smile to my face too. Everyone knows that the X-Division is the direction I think wrestling should be heading.
Third, bringing back the Main Event Mafia...ugh! Too predictable. And with that said, it's so beyond time to loose the Aces and Eights.
Fourth, The Bound For Glory series. Love this time of year, hate with a passion the idea of Magnus being in the lead. My personal dream match for the belt would be Sabin vs Styles or Sabin vs Aries.
WWE...
Summer Slam is this weekend. Not really caring to tell you the truth. Already ruined for me. You've got RVD going for Dean Ambrose's United States title. Not happy about that.
The pre-show hasn't really had a lot of luck for the guy going into the match, nor has the pre-show really been very good to begin with. The matches are never long enough.
I know they've got the pre-show listed as an hour, so I'm hoping that match is at lest a half hour. What I'm wanting to see is Mr. Ambrose hanging onto that belt any way he has to. Take the count out, cheat, have the other members of the Shield - Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns- cause a dq, run away with the belt...dude, just the belt looks good on you.
But something tells me that we're going to see Rollins and Reigns in a sticky match themselves. As of this posting, there wasn't anything listed for the tag champs for the ppv. But, if the last few episodes of the show are any clue, I have a feeling they well be in a match against Mark Henry and Big Show. If that happens, well I can't even see cheating let alone a clean win helping them keep the belts. Not happy about the idea of them loosing yet.
I'm not ready to see the Shield deglazed and loose their shinny.

Money in the Bank 2013 Love and Hated
Sunday night. Interior, mother's, situation - tried to order ppv and three times message flashed on the screen telling me that the other shows in the dvr had to be removed. They were mom's shows, I took them out and ordered the ppv. Mom's not happy. But oh well on with the blog post...
The pre-show.... First of all, good to see Vickie as part of the announce group. Usos vs Shield members Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. This is for the tag team belts. They went to a commercial in the middle of the match. Dude really? The Shield won and kept their titles. Yes, very happy. Love that!
World Heavyweight ladder match... Shield member Dean Ambrose got a large cheer from the crowd when he was introduced. Fandango, Swagger, Cesaro, Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow, and Wade Barrett where then introduced. Wade wore the blue, never a good sign. Ambrose ended up between the ladder more then once, using it to his advantage with skill, and put a wicked DDT from the middle of the ladder on Swagger. The other members of the Shield came out to help Ambrose, then the Usos came out to get revenge, stupid letting Sandow get the sneak in there. NOT happy. Damn it! I wanted Ambrose to get the case. Now I'm pissed off.
Brad Maddox made an appearance... I like the Brad Maddox.
the Miz vs Curtis Axel for the Intercontinental Championship. Heyman was sent to the back, but the crowd right off started to chant that they want Heyman. Well, our household was split on this one, I was cheering for Axel, mom was cheering for Miz. Axel got the win and kept his title.
Jericho vs Ryback... I really thought that Vickie was going to make her return by being his manager, but with her on announce team, seems I was wrong...for now. Ryback won.
I'm still pissed about Ambrose not getting the case. Will be for a very long time.
Dolph Ziggler vs Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight title...and it went to Del Rio by dq and he keeps the belt.
Cena vs Mark Henry for the WWE championship... Cena came out to nearly a full house of boos. Haha! And after countless tries, Cena was able to get Henry up for his trademark slam, but Henry kicked out. Cena managed to get him in a submissions in the middle of the ring, and Henry had to tap. He TAPPED!.
Where are the Wyatts in all this? Okay, no sooner did I type that sentence then they did a promo of the Wyatts...
The all star ladder match... RVD, Christian, Daniel Bryan, Orton, Sheamus, CM Punk. There was one point where it looked like Orton had frealed up his knee, after having landed funny from falling off the ladder. Sheamus took a horrible fall hurting himself, looked like his arm. Curtis Axel came running in, demolishing Bryan until Punk gave Axel a GTS. Heyman came out yelling at Axel. And the crowd screaming full on we want Heyman. Then Heyman beat up Punk with a ladder...Orton RKO'ed RVD thank god! Orton got the case. Thank frealing god it was not RVD.
Still pissed off about Ambrose not getting the case. Still!
Okay, so half the show didn't turn out like I wanted, but things will be shaken up a little, and we can look forward to new storylines and feuds over the next few months...and yes still unhappy about Ambrose not getting the case.

What do I think the fallout of Money in the Bank will be?
So yet another ppv this weekend, and as always, I've got thoughts on it. I know I said few weeks ago, that it was already ruined for me with the fact RVD is returning via the ppv. I do not like RVD. I think he's part of what was the downfall for TNA... but anyways, here's what I think will happen this weekend at the ppv.
Pre-show: I want the Shield members Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns to keep their titles. I think they will end up loosing to the Usos. I want Rollins/Reigns to stay on top no matter what it takes, any means necessary.
Jerico vs Ryback : I think Vickie will make a big return by being Ryback's manager.
Miz vs Curtis Axel : I think Axel will keep his Intercontinental Championship.
World Heavyweight contract money in the bank match: I want and think Shield member Dean Ambrose is going to have this one.
All Stars Money in the Bank match: I want CM Punk to win, I think RVD is going to be handed the damn thing.
Dolph Ziggler vs Del Rio: World Heavyweight Championship, I think it's going to go to Ziggler.
Cena vs Mark Henry: I think Cena is going to win, and keep the belt.
Why I think all this, let's start with the obvious feuds that will come out after the weekend.
1) RVD or Punk getting the All Star briefcase, will lead to a typical feud with Cena. Makes sense, could lead to some interesting back and forth over the next two months. Not too mention, a great three way storyline- Cena/Punk/RVD- with Heyman dead center.
2) There is already a decent feud started between Ambrose and Christian. I can see Ambrose holding on to his title with Christian challenging him for either the U.S. belt or his briefcase for a shot at ...
3) Ziggler. Christian vs Ziggler for the title or Ambrose vs Ziggler for the title at say Survivor Series would make for a great match. And yeah, I'm still begging for the Shield to some how at some point be in a six man 2/3 falls submission match. I'll keep nagging and begging till I see it.
4) Wyatt Family. I've gone on record on GetGlue saying that I think the Wyatt's are either going to be connected to Brad Maddox or the Shield. I'm really leaning now to a story where Brad Maddox is a member of the Wyatt Family all this time, and would love love love to see a big feud form for the tag belts between the Shield and the Wyatt's.
Okay, that's how I see this weekend's ppv turning out, and the next few months.

Let's talk a bit about Seth Rollins
By now, you've heard me talk about how I chat with other fans on GetGlue.
Some of it's good, some not so much. Always interesting. Someone asked me earlier what it is that I like about Seth Rollins ? (aka Tyler Black) The guy in question was ranting about the whole Shield in general...and well you know me by now.
So my answer to him was that Seth Rollins could have a match against a sofa pillow and still make it seem like the greatest thing in decades, he's that damned good. That talented.
I've commented before countless of times, how I'm always in awe when I watch his matches, with the way he flies around the ring, the heights he manages, the skill he shows at submission matches.
I could go on like that for awhile. I can't say enough good stuff about him. (yeah bit of a fang-girlfan-girl) He needs more gold.
I like this dude, and was fairly pissed off when he lost the NXT title few months back. I like that currently, he's part of the tag champs (at the time of this posting) and that he's got a fairly large storyline. I just wish he'd do something about that hair. (yeah, the only bad thing I have to say about him is that I hate that half blonde half dark thing)
So, as I'm sitting here tonight chatting with people about wrestling, I just thought I would post about the hot topic.
I want to see Seth Rollins take over the show.

What I loved and hated about Payback 2013
In the plus side- the Preshow...it started right off with the match between Sheamus and Sandow. Really great back and forth for over 15 minutes, with a beauty of a move by Sandow putting Sheamus into the corner in a combo of a reverse neck-breaker-tree of woe. Both men got a few near falls, but the win went to Sheamus. I like that fact. If you've read some of my previous ppv recaps, you know in the past they have wasted way too much time with talk and crap with little to no time for a proper match.
The first match of the main ppv- was the Intercontinental Championship between Wade Barrett, Miz, and Curtis Axel. This was an obvious triple threat match. Barrett wore the blue and not the red like I had asked in the last post. Axel pinned Barrett's shoulders, but Miz had Barrett in the figure four at the same time. Interesting. Does that mean Axel actually beat both men? I'm not too happy about this outcome. I wanted Barrett to keep for another few months. Damn it! Barrett shouldn't have worn the blue all I'm saying.
Second- women's match. I didn't bother to watch this match. Someone I was chatting with on GetGlue told me that Dolph's manager won the belt.
I lost about 4 minutes here, as we had a thunder storm and the power went out.
Third- Shield member Dean Ambrose vs Kane for the U.S. title. And Ambrose kept the title, by a count out. You know I love that. That was beauty.
Fourth- Del Rio vs Dolph Ziggler. for the Heavyweight title. Damn, Ziggler took a bunch of strikes to the skull. The match should have been stopped at lest twice but never was. Del Rio got the win and the belt. But, you know, this was a sour win for me. I really hope Ziggler hasn't done real damage to himself with this match. It should never have gone on as long as it did.
Fifth- Jericho vs CM Punk. Punk looked like Wolverine. Not sure I like it on him, but it does make him look about ten years younger. And with two GTS Punk won. Seriously, did anyone have any doubts? No. I mean, how often do you see someone loose in their big return? or at their hometown for that matter? Never.
Sixth- Shield members Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns vs Bryan and Orton for the Tag Team belts. One move that Seth Rollins does that I love is that second-shelf-sudden-stop. I love watching Rollins do just about anything. And Rollins got the pin to win and kept the belts. I'm very happy. Very happy very happy, very. I've said it a few times before that I think Rollins has some bat in him, the way he just seems to fly around the ring, and the heights he gets when he does anything. Love it!
So yes, very happy all three members of the Shield won their matches and kept their belts!
Main event - Cena vs Ryback in a 3 stages of hell match. First part, a lumberjack match. And as the lumberjacks were coming out to the ring, I was thinking, half of those guys would have made a much better filler match then having wasted time on the women.
So round one went to Ryback.
Round two went to Cena. The tables round.
And winner is Cena. He managed to get Ryback into the ambulance. Giving him two wins out of three and managed to keep his belt.
So I spent my evening, chatting with other wrestling fans on GetGlue, and to say that many of the topics were divided is an understatement. Just the main event alone caused so much heat and havoc, that you would think it was life and death for some people.
Obviously, for me, the highlights of the night were the Shield matches. The low point, finding out that RVD is returning to WWE at the next ppv Money In The Bank. That news just right off ruined next month's ppv for me. Ruined!
But that's another rant for another ppv.

Can we see this at Payback?
Spudguns! (you haven't been called that in a long time on this blog eh? I know, I'm pulling out all the old catch phrases this week) I'm thinking, and I'm chatting with the morons...er um other so called wrestling fans, and I'm thinking some more, cause that's what I do most.
I think. And then I over think, then I have a coffee and over think some more.
What I would like to see happen at WWE Payback next week... uh huh. To be honest, not sure. But, I thought I'd come in here and slatter on a bit.
Well, I know that Wade Barrett has a match for his Intercontinental Championship in a three way vs Miz and Fandango. Notice I highlighted Mr. Barrett, that's cause he's the only important one in this match. I hope he hangs on to this belt till Summer Slam. Just cause. And wears the red.
The Tag Team belts currently held by part of the Shield Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. We know they are setting up to have them defend their titles, the question is, will it be against the members of Team Hell No- Bryan and Kane, or will it be against Bryan and someone new? That's a tough one? They are starting to show us that there are more tag teams in the company then we original were aware of. The Usos, Prime Time Players, Wyatt Family... personally, I'd like to see Shield in a six man with Dean Ambrose who is the current United States champion, against Hell No and Orton. And let the other listed tag teams battle it out in a Number #1 contenders match. I know that the Usos are looking to be the next in line, but really I'm loving Husky Harris...er um I mean Bray Wyatt and his Wyatt Family. (if you haven't been watching NXT, you'll understand when they jump over) But, getting back to the Shield, can we make that a six man 2/3 falls submissions match....PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! I keep begging every ppv I keep begging.
And just keeping inline with my desire to see NXT guys get a better push, would love to see Brad Maddox calling some of the matches at the ppv. Or whomever the current NXT Tag Champs are by then maybe sitting at ringside just observing the Shield...that's what I want.

They need a little push
Who would I like to see get a push in the course of the next few months in WWE?
Honestly, it's time to let Seth Rollins back on top for awhile. Yes, he's got some gold as half the Tag Team champs right now, and he's in the Shield, but he's sort of been hiding in the background the last while behind his curtain of hair. Let him take some of the lead for a bit. And you know maybe pick one colour and stick with it, still hoping to see him go back to full on dark side.
Brad Maddox, he has been holding his own on NXT but that's about it. He needs more air time in general.
Leo Kruger and Kassius Ohno. Damn it! They need to be given a big push onto Smackdown! Imagine what they could do if actually given a proper storyline. As a tag team, or as singles they could be good for the summer feud with anyone from Wade Barrett to even the Shield.
Think of the technical submission matches we could see if Ohno were allowed to dip into Smackdown against Rollins... sorry drooling now.
Well, that's what's on my mind on this Saturday morning.

What I loved and hated about ...
Extreme Rules
pre-show... Miz won just as predicted. CRAP! The length of the match was okay but it could have been longer in my mind. I like that Wade Barrett was part of the pre-show, but would have liked to have more of him. I still think that pre-shows are not handled as well as they could be.
First up was Jericho vs Fandango... Well, Fandango's pants looked like someone melted crayons and smeared them all over him. Dude why? Jericho got the win clean with a codebreaker and a pin. I'm liking that Fandango was beat.
Shield match -Dean Ambrose vs Kofi Kingston.... Ambrose wore white. Nice! And get this, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns did not stick around. And you know what happened then...Ambrose cleaned house! The U. S. title is now on the waist of Shield. Match was a bit short for my tastes, but most matches these days are too short for my tastes.
Mark Henry vs Sheamus in a strap match. Sheamus got this. I have to say, I was wrong on my predictions here, and for once glad I was wrong.
Swagger vs Del Rio in an I Quit match for the number one contender spot. Del Rio got this with his armbreaker. This had some issues, because Zeb threw Del Rio's towel and the ref called the match giving it to Swagger, until he saw the replay and then restarted the match. Del Rio then won within seconds making Swagger scream I Quit.
Shield match- Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns vs Kane and Bryan. Tornado rules and it was the Tag Team belts on the line. Shield got the win. Love it! Love it! Match was decent length. And you have to love the fact that they did it clean.
Big Show vs Orton. This was a typical back and forth match. And Orton won. There wasn't any doubt.
Cena vs Ryback. Last Man Standing. Feel sorry for the "pit crew" who had to jump out of the way when they both went through the gates at the time keepers seats. This was a seemingly nasty, brutal finish. I have to admit, that they do so many fake injuries that I've long given up trying to tell when it's a scripted injury and when it's the real deal. No winner.
Brock vs Triple H. Brock had his knee messed up, midway through the match, which made me cringe and will no doubt set off nightmares of my own knee injury tonight, and Heyman ran into the cage getting jammed up by Triple H. And delivered a low blow on Triple H. Brock got the win. and there was no blood shed that I saw.
Okay, obviously, I loved the wins by the Shield. That was something I blogged about a month ago so seeing it come about made my week.
As I said earlier in the post, I love longer matches.

What I think will happen at...
Extreme Rules tomorrow night.
Pre-Show is suppose to have Miz vs Cody Rhodes... I would actually like to say Rhodes for the win, but given how badly they seem to handle pre-shows for ppvs, I say it will go to Miz with the use of the figure fore...too predictable. What I would love to see, is Wade Barrett or Damien Sandow run in, and for the match itself to last longer then 4 minutes.
Jericho vs Fandango... seriously, don't care. But, what I would love to see is a submissions match. Maybe with Cesaro as the special guest ref? That would be cool.
Orton vs Big Show... it's an Extreme rules match. I have to put my money on Orton, if no one runs in. Maybe we could bring Cesaro in here for a run in? Dude, I'm just really thinking we need Cesaro somewhere in this ppv.
Sheamus vs Mark Henry in a strap match. Everyone knows I'm a big fan of Sheamus, but I think I have to give this match to Henry.
Alberto Del Rio vs Swagger. Seriously, don't think either will be given a chance to cry I Quit, because I hate to say it, but I think someone like Big E will run in and ruin it all. Which will blow monkey balls. But, if no one disrupts the match, then I have to hand it to Del Rio.
Cena vs Ryback... don't care. It's a Last Man Standing match, and going to say I hope that The Shield run in just cause they are my favourite vengeance demons. OR CM Punk will make his big return and run in. I could live with that.
Triple H vs Brock... don't care. But in this case, I can see Triple H getting the win with tons of blood shed.
The Shield matches - Dean Ambrose vs Kofi Kingston. That's a no brainer, Ambrose is going to come from that with the United States championship. Seth Rollins/Roman Reigns vs Team Hell No
for the Tag Team belts in a Tornado match. Rollins and Reigns will come from that with the Tag Team belts. (I actually mentioned this like a month ago...here dude here)
And if you're asking yourself why I put my favourites on the bottom of the list, then you need to remind yourself how I think. When the MotorCityMachine Guns! used to be a team in TNA, they got the "main event" spot on the blog. (yes I know they did not spell it as one long word but bite me, I do write it that way.)
I'll be back tomorrow after the ppv. Till then,

Are the best wrestling Villains truly on the mic?
One of the reasons I have always loved wrestling, happens to be the commentators. It's something I would honestly love to do myself, just once even. But, I think part of the reason I love the commentators so much, is they can say anything and get away with it.
In other words, if you're in the announce booth you're probably there because you're an excellent heel. Sympathetic to the troubles and disrespect that the big bad in the ring is subject to from fans. (I'm waiting for the day The Shield take over Smackdown's announce booth for the night. Just one episode, don't make me beg.)
Bobby the Brain Heenan, Cyrus, Joel Gertner, Tazz, Michael Cole, all known as much for pissing people off as they are for anything else, and all with the simple use of their voice.
When I get into conversations with other fans, everyone asks me who my biggest influence growing up was, and my answer is always Bobby the Brain Heenan. Hands down. I loved the way he could manipulate a microphone more so then anything else he ever did in an actual ring.
I first started to watch ECW on tv because I was a fan of Raven, I continued watching because of Joel Gertner. I loved anticipating who would be the baseline for his jokes every week. And who didn't have a laugh fest every time he'd ball up his fists and give a silent open mouthed laugh in the style of a two year old? Dude, priceless.
JCW is as much known for having 3D and Gweedo (the wrestling on air persona of Violent J, and Shaggy 2 Dope) as they are for helping bring guys like the late Trent Acid to a wider audience. Those two pulled no punches when calling a match. And created stories within stories within inside jokes each episode. Sometimes expanding on a character.
Currently, NXT has William Regal as the center piece for the mouth pieces, but I've yet to see the WWE really put stock into bringing the next generation of announcers into the forefront. Michael Cole has been carrying the Monday and Friday night shows on his back now for the last few years. Brad Maddox and Josh Mathews could, if given an honest shot, become the next generation of voices to carry fans into the next few decades.
This is one thing, I'm sorry to say, TNA is short on. We have Tazz as colour commentator, but no one else on the Impact announce booth crew (say that three times fast) seems to be as charasmatic. Nor do I see anyone jumping in any time soon. This would be an excellent use of Christopher Daniels or Austin Aries between matches, as they are both wicked on the mic.
I've actually been on the receiving end of a mouth full of nasty comments from Cyrus at autograph signings and live events, even when he's off he's on. But that doesn't change the fact I think he's one of the best microphone masters around.
When we think of a really great match, we think of the wrestlers, but when we think of a really great episode, many of us remember the one liners and the catch phrases at just the right point in a match, as much as who was in the ring itself that night. Guest announcers for matches, can make or break the concentration of the regular announce crew, adding to or taking from what normally could have been a really great commentary. A great announcer can jump script and steer a sinking segment into smoother waters, while others flounder in their notes.
Usually, its the villains who end up saving the segment.

Glad to see....
I used screen capture for this post
The return of Chris Sabin!
Everyone and their dog's grandmother, knows that I'm a big fan of Mr. Sabin, and it's really great to see that he's made his return to wrestling after almost two full years out because of knee injuries.
I know, he came back to TNA tv last week, but I didn't get a chance to see it till today, so hence the late mention.
What does this mean for the state of the X-Division in TNA? It means that the X-Division can finally have a chance to repair itself. It's been lacking for months.
In his first televised match back, if you watch the episode from May 2nd 2013, you will see there was a moment where it looked like he might have taken on more then he could chew. But thankfully, he proved that he really has not lost a step.
His promo spoke of his intentions to join the hunt for the Heavyweight title. I don't think anyone would doubt at all that the title would look like it belongs on his shoulder. Personally, I'd like to see the X-Division belt around his waist as well. (can we just hand them both to him?)
Speaking as someone who dealt with a knee injury, having one is bad enough, but having to deal with both knees causing you pain and issues, the dude is a god as far as I'm concerned to be able to come back from that. Just to come back from a knee injury in general, let alone return to a sport as demanding as wrestling. And to the X-Division on top of that! Dude is a god!
I just have one thing to say about the return of Mr. Sabin...dude the hair! Seriously? (shall I break out the hair gel or just let you kill me with a chainsaw and use my intestines to slick it back?- damn I missed being able to use this hair gimmick)
Love always, Ardeth Blood

What could The Shield do at Extreme Rules?
It's the middle of the week, and I spent some time chatting on GetGlue with a few of the wrestling fans I hang with online about what kind of match we think The Shield will end up in for Extreme Rules in a few weeks time.
One person said a street fight, I said I could see a cage match, someone else added a tables ladders chairs match.
Well, since they've already proved themselves few months back in a tlc match at the TLC ppv, I say skip that.
Have I mentioned lately that I really do not care for hard core matches of any kind?
I think it would all come down to who they get pitted against for the ppv next month. The feud now seems to be building with Bryan and Kane, which would lead logically to a tag team titles match. If they go that far with the feud. Which in that case, a TLC rematch would make perfect sense.
But say they win that, that's two belts and three men. What about the third waist? There should be some more shinny happening there shouldn't there?
I say, add to the pot, either put whomever by then has the NXT belt into the mix, or the United States belt. That would make for an interesting cocktail don't you think? (like an extra dry gin martini shaken not stirred three olives no ice)
If they continue with this feud involving the Undertaker, why not just make it a three on one handicap match, 2 out of 3 falls submission match. That would rock!
Yes, submission matches and 2 out of 3 falls matches are my favourite kinds okay deal with it.
That's my thoughts on it at this point. Maybe by then, Seth Rollins will have picked one hair colour and stuck with it...I'm still partial to the dark side.

What I would like to see on WWE
It's another Tuesday, which means it's a morning after Raw.
One of the top stories is that the Shield will be going up against Team Hell No and Undertaker next week.
Well, the way I see it, most people are banking on the Shield getting their first loss. And given the fact the creative team doesn't seem to have any balls when it comes to making the Undertaker loose, I suppose that's what the outcome will be.
Which will piss me off to the end of time.
Unless, the Shield manage to play a game of keep away and cause the Undertaker, and the others to be counted out.
If the Undertaker and Kane are kept out of the ring long enough by say Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, that would give Seth Rollins the chance to pin Daniel Bryan.
I could live with that.
Or, there is the idea that Jon Cena will come running in and cause a DQ, where no one will win. And therefore, the Undertaker turning on Cena.
I could live with that too.
If by chance, my favourite vengeance demons-vampiric werewolves (yeah I'm still in Buffy the Vampire Slayer mode) do get that pin, it would be nice to see Seth Rollins do so.
And maybe just maybe see Rollins choose one hair colour... I don't know, I'm partial to the dark side.

What I liked and hated about WM29
So, I've done two posts already about what I hoped would happen at Wrestlemaina this year, and now, here's the after show thoughts.
Well, the pre-show blew dog backwards. One full hour and it was nothing but a recap with a very sad 4 minute match between Wade Barrett and The Miz. This should have been a star attraction match, should have been on the main show and longer.
Miz made Barrett tap to win the title. That was a massive misplay of what should have been a big match. With a full hour, or even a half hour time limit they could have done so much more with the whole thing, like 2 out of 3 falls or something. But, no they totally mishandled it.
The Shield vs Show/Orton/Sheamus. The Shield won! I was enjoying that match a lot. Still, I thought it was a bit of a short match, even though it ran about 20 minutes. Ambrose getting the pin over Orton was brilliant. I was hanging out on GetGlue throughout the night, chatting with other fans, and people were taking bets on who would make a heel turn, I really thought Sheamus was going to. (When Big Show ripped the clothes off of The Shield, straight women and gay men everywhere were cheering.)
Ryback vs Mark Henry. Well, Henry won, but Ryback had to have the last word. One of the fans I was talking to, made the comment that Ryback's outfit made him look like an overgrown Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtle...damn they said it before I could.
Team Hell No vs Dolph Ziggler/Big E. Okay, I was wrong on this, Hell No won, I didn't think they would. And no one bothered to get Big E any pants or even a towel.
Fandango vs Jericho...well, this was a pointless match. We pretty much knew that Fandango was going to get this one, but it just wasn't a strong match at all.
Alberto Del Rio vs Swagger. Okay, so this was a match that I'm still wondering why creative went with the whole storyline? I'm glad Del Rio won.
CM Punk vs Undertaker... BITE ME! I was not happy with the outcome of this match. I really thought that Punk was going to win this, I really wanted Punk to win this. So the Undertaker won and this would have been a really good point for the Shield to have run out, but no they didn't. I was literally throwing cheesies at the tv screen. (mmmm cheesies, salty cheesy junk food-y goodness)
Brock vs Triple H. Triple H coming out of the back, he had some sort of white stuff on him, and I'm just wondering, what was that? Baby powder? Snow? Cocaine? What the hell was that stuff? Triple H won this, like we didn't see that coming a mile away.
Cena vs Rock. I've stated I really don't care for either. It was a full on split with the fans I was talking to on GetGlue, and even here in my family. (mom was cheering for Cena) Cena got the win and the title here. Which I'm sure is setting up for Ziggler to cash in his MIB case.
They seemed to have left out the Tensi/Clay vs Rhodes Scholars match... one fan on GetGlue brought that up about five times. I didn't notice till they mentioned it.
Over all, I would say this really did not need to be a 4 hour show. It could have been handled better and in about 3 hours. There have actually been better episodes of Smackdown then what Wrestlemaina was tonight.
Till Later- Love Ardeth Blood

What I'd like to see at Wrestlemaina part 2
Few weeks ago, I wrote a post with some of the things I would like to see happen at the ppv tomorrow night.
I guess I need to update since the schedule has been updated.
Wade Barrett vs the Miz.... I'm going for Barrett all the way, cause everyone knows I'm a big fan of his. Just hope he wears the red trunks, cause I like the red trunks. Barrett needs this win, needs to keep the Intercontinental Championship for another few months. I want to see him then go on to get the Heavyweight Championship.
the mixed tag of with The Rhodes Scholars vs Clay/Tensi. First of all, I refuse to call Clay and Tensi by the name that they are listed as. Normally, I would be hoping to see Rhodes Scholars come out on top, but I really don't care about this match at all.
Jericho vs Fandango... I can see Fandango getting the win here. But this match has got me scratching my skull wondering why it's even on the list? Why is Johnny Curtis still pulling on this character's pants? Is it going to come out that he fell and hit his skull and is having a split personality or something? (like they are doing on Bold and the Beautiful with Caroline?) cause that would be a good story, much better then this stupid name game thing.
Del Rio vs Swagger. I already commented on this on the other post.
Tag Team champs, Hell No vs Ziggler/Big E. I want to see someone give Big E a pair of pants, or a kilt or something, cause, damn there are children watching and that dude should not be running around in shorts that short. I predict the fall of Hell No. Not because I want to see them end, but because that's what I figure will happen.
Ryback vs Mark Henry. Again, a match I don't care about. I'm sick and tired of Ryback, so I'm going with the idea that Mark Henry will win, or better yet, the Wyatt Family from NXT will come down and disrupt it. That would rock.
C.M Punk vs Undertaker. I've already commented on this on the other post.
Rock vs Cena. I've already commented on this on the other post.
Triple H vs Brock. As I mentioned in the comment section of the other post, don't care. But I'm sure Triple H will win.
Sheamus/Orton/Show vs the Shield. As I commented on the other post and it's comment section, this is the only reason I'm actually getting the pay-per-view tomorrow night. I think the best thing that the Shield can do, is isolate Sheamus and Orton, not letting Big Show even get into the match. Have Dean Ambrose square off more with Sheamus, cause we know he can handle it, and have Seth Rollins square off more with Randy Orton in submissions, and use his speed/flight ability. Using Roman Reigns only when totally necessary. Using sure brute force on this isn't what the Shield need to do, they need to be smarter. The Shield need to win this ppv.
I also stated that I'd like to see some more NXT guys on the ppv.
Okay, that's about it for the night, I'll be back after the whole thing with comments and thoughts. Until then... Love Ardeth Blood

What I think about ...
NXT at the moment.
Okay, I've managed to catch up with WWE's NXT as far as last week's show (this week's doesn't air here until tonight) and I'd like to know why they seem to have broken up the tag team of Leo Kruger and Kassius Ohno ? This could have been such a dominant tag team.
I understand that both wrestlers are beyond fabulous singles wrestlers, but I really thought that there was going to be a big push for them as a team.
Bit disappointed that they got jammed out of the tag tournament.
The feud between Bo Dallas and the Wyatt Family, is one of the few that makes sense. Well, as much as they are letting the Wyatt Family make sense. Are they going to reveal that Bo Dallas and Wyatt are brothers in real life, or not? I would. It would add just an extra bit of spice to the mix.
Corey Graves. I'd like to see what he could do on announce for a few matches. We're not getting a whole lot of his personality with the little mic time they have given him recently. Yes, I know he's a Heel, he's this bad ass who can turn anyone into a human pretzel, but can we hear him ... now?
More Shield. Please. I think I've become addicted to them. Dean Ambrose has totally won me over. I know few months back, I was cheering just Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, but Dean Ambrose has gotten under my skin. In a good way.
He's someone else I'd like to have take over the announce booth for a few episodes. Maybe that's it, maybe he's hypnotized me with that vampiric voice of his?

Can we make this happen?
So, I was hanging around GetGlue tonight, talking with some folks about movies. And we were saying wouldn't it be cool if blah-blah-blah-blah-blah were cast in this film?
And it got me thinking. The 2004 Universal monster film, Van Helsing is getting a franchise reboot. Starring, wait for it... Tom Cruise. We already know the dude can play a vampire. He played Lestat in the 1994 Interview with the Vampire, and we know he can handle action/thriller movies. (That's the only movie of his I've cared for)
But if I were casting a vampire movie of this caliber, I would want guys in it that have some real bite to them. And what the hell, Triple H has already sunk his teeth into the role of vampire Jarko in the 2004 movie Blade 3: Trinity.
And if you've been reading this blog over the last while, you know I totally see members of the Shield in a werewolf-ish light. (Chris Sabin is totally on my werewolf wish list. Someone needs to build an entire trilogy just for him. I think I would have to add Zema Ion to the werewolf list too)
So, if I was going to cast a big vampire movie, who in the wrestling industry would I cast?
Okay, you have to put Sheamus on this list. He already looks like a vampire. And going by some old folklores and myths that say if you were a redhead you are... there is no doubt about it.
Austin Aries (I'm just going to jump from company to company here as I think of them) I think would make a perfect vampire god. There is just something about how he can deliver a line that, with that smirk of his, totally screams vampire to me.
Dean Ambrose. I think he'd make a great Dracula. Or even a really good Lestat. He's got that undertone of cocky sarcasm. It would have to be the early versions of Lestat, before Tale of a Body Thief, cause I don't know how well he could pull off the self loathing depressed parts of the character? Or you know, Santiago, maybe Armand.... okay I really want to see him as a vampire.
Leo Kruger, would make a picture perfect Vlad the Impaler, in a bio-pic. Just toss a sword and hat on him. (the only actor to ever pull off a decent version was Rudolf Martin in the 2000 made for tv movie Dracula the Dark Prince aka Dark Prince the True Story of Dracula)
Seth Rollins, is on this list. Some of the things I've seen this dude pull off, I have to wonder if there is some bat in him?
Alex Shelley... come on, haven't talked about him in ages, but I think he'd make a decent vampire. Could totally see him as Nick Knight if they ever reboot that series. Actually, I could see him as one of the other roles in Dracula, like Johnathan Harker, or Arthur Holmwood.
Wade Barrett would make a really good modern version of Van Helsing. Huh, I sort of forgot about the vampire hunters. The Miz or Kassius Ohno, or Corey Graves all come to mind as a vampire hunter.
Well, you see where my brain takes me when I'm left alone too long, into the shadows and under the graveyard.

What I'd like to see at Wrestlemaina
"Hunger makes beasts of men and demons of beasts" - Dracula Rising.
Yeah, that's yet another quote from yet another vampire movie. I'm just chalk full of vampiric goodness. And it seems, now I have to get wrestlemaina next month. I was just going to not and catch the results on the website, but since I found out the Shield have a match... well I can't miss my favourite vengeance demons. (if you're a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan you'll get that one)
So of what we know about the schedule for wrestlemaina at this point, here's the short list of what I want to see happen.
- The Shield win their match. No, I don't think I'm asking too much here. I get that it's Wrestlemaina, the payperview that started it all, and that it will mark the change in storylines for the coming year, but that doesn't mean that we have to follow the same old same old. I know this point would be where normally, the faces win, after months of being repressed, but damn it! I think having the Shield come out on top will show something many fans already know. You don't have to be the face to be good.
-CM Punk, winning over the Undertaker. Yeah, I said it. I want the streak to end and I think that Punk is the one to do it. Why? Because he's got the skill to back up the talk. I think it would be a brilliant move on the part of WWE to have CM Punk overturn the Undertaker, then get the belt back the following night. I want to see CM Punk beat his own record for longest title reign, at lest have him reach six hundred and sixty-six days this time. (if you followed my last post that will sink in, in a minute)
-more NXT guys on a ppv. I'm a few weeks behind again on episodes of NXT, so right now I can't comment on much, other then let's bring them into the spotlight more. Even something like a tournament or four way for NXT number one contender during the ppv. Which could you know, springboard one month in the coming year an NXT ppv... that would be cool
-Speaking of the Shield, I would love to see them get involved in the Rock/Cena match. Cause I neither like Rock nor Cena (pictures Seth Rollins with the belt held high)
- Alberto Del Rio vs Jack Swagger... I'm tired already of this story. Obviously thou, I want Del Rio to win this. I want him to keep his title, and defend it against Wade Barrett soon. I want to see that particular belt on the waist of Barrett.
Well, we're still a few weeks away from the year's ppv, but that's what's coagulating in my vampire movie soaked brain right now.

Are we a cult?
I used screen capture for this post
Two of the most interesting new shows are The Following and Cult. The first is about a group of people who use the works of Edgar Allen Poe as their religion base, and the second is about the way fans respond to a particular tv show.
This all got me thinking, are we a cult?
Wrestling fans have been called everything, from marks/rubes, nerds/geeks, fanatics to followers. We buy the product, the characters, the gimmicks, with or without question (I question everything admit to nothing or is it the other way around?) the dvds/videos/tee shirts and wave them like banners.
We have our heroes and our villains who we would do anything (or almost anything) for, and some cross the line to groupie.
I think we can say that whether you call us part of the "universe" or if we "even matter" we the fans have built the wrestling industry up to cult status.
If you look up the word cult, you will find part of the definition to be a group who's beliefs are considered abnormal in larger society and using ritual practices. Usually, lead by someone of an extreme charismatic influence. Some of the followers eventually are elevated to leaders themselves.
Some would say television itself is a cult. It's definitely the medium in this case. WWE has shamelessly tried to have a "cult leader" storyline few years ago with CM Punk's character, spreading a message about living a clean and honorable life; which tanked but still managed to show he could balance on the fine line of Heel or Face. The message was a good one, the way the company handled it was a bad idea.(his Jesus Christ Pose as I called it. And another song title actually by the group Soundgarden) And even now (at the time of this post anyways) Punk's theme song is Cult of Personality by the group Living Colour from 1988
Wrestling fans have been accused, and rightly so, of being some of the most rabid fans out there. (second only to soap opera fans. Twilighters come in a short third. I learned never to get physically between a Team Edward fan and a Team Jacob fan the hard way) Maybe that's because wrestling has no end season, and is available 24/7-365.
Personally, I prefer to think of myself as a junkie when it comes to wrestling, but I just can't help but wonder, as wrestling fans are we in fact a cult?

So I'm thinking...
I'm on GetGlue. Have been since last summer, and I would more then love to see some NXT stickers.
I think it's beyond time to see guys like Leo Kruger, Kassius Ohno, Seth Rollins, Corey Graves, Alex Riley, Connor O'Brian, getting put to print.
From what I've seen, there was one Wade Barrett sticker -which sadly was expired by the time I joined- and think it would be wickedly cool to see some new ones for him.
I'm not the only fan who's feeling this way either.
Yeah, it's stickers, it's silly, it's a fun way show some internet love to our favourite wrestlers. I'm silly and sometimes fun. Silly is good. Yes have some.
Speaking of NXT, I've been catching up with some of the last month's episodes (that's what parents are for, taping wrestling for you) and I really like the idea of this tag team tournament. I've always been someone who has found the tag team divisions, in most companies more interesting then singles.

Have you seen the movie Underworld ? You know the vampire/werewolf movie series. There is a line uttered by one of the most fabulous British actors Michael Sheen, as the character Lucian when he screams at the group of werewolves who are fighting among themselves for no real reason, "You are acting like a pack of rabid dogs!"
I think of that line whenever I watch The Shield. I like that line, like the weight of it.
And I like the odds that The Shield have going into tomorrow's pay-per-view. Even though, I'm a major fan of Sheamus, I'm saying I hope The Shield destroy Ryback and Cena. Flatten them!
If you've been following me at all, you know I've made my statements in the past on Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, most of them good, a few comments not so much.
But, I think the advantage goes to The Shield in this match.
At this point, I'm still unsure if I'm going to be able to see the pay-per-view, I've also missed about 5 episodes of NXT, so not sure what's happening from that stand point.
And I hope CM Punk wins his match.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that Reigns is total werewolf material when he does that roar in the middle of the ring right before/after they powerbomb someone. Maybe a bear... keep expecting to see his image on the cover of one of those paranormal teen books that are everywhere these days.

Random wrestling thoughts Feb 12/2013
I was once asked why I have never actively tried to get a writing job in the wrestling industry?
There are a bundle of reasons, one being I don't kiss ass very well. Good enough an answer for you?
I think being a fan is both great and horrible at the same time. Which, as we all know, being in the industry would be both great and horrible at the same time too. Think about it, some of the guys work for years and never make it to either of the big companies. No matter how talented they are, luck just is not on their side. Then there are those who are just in the right place at the right time and really don't offer much at all.
Such is life, such is rock n roll
As a fan, I can voice my opinion freely on if I care or not, for a match/storyline/etc without fear of loosing my job. It's a luxury. Something I was normally unable to do when I did book reviews and the few years I worked as a news reporter.
Like today, I was watching a clip from last night's WWE Raw, of Wade Barrett vs Kofi Kingston, and thinking, as much as I love seeing Mr. Barrett on tv as often as humanly possible, I'm really really tired right now of this feud with Kofi Kingston. I'm actually very eager to see him really jump into some matches with Bo Dallas, or possibly Damien Sandow, or for that matter Seth Rollins. (Barrett vs Rollins, now that would be something to sink your teeth into) Something fresh, that we haven't seen five million times in the last three months.
I get that the two work well off each other, and always give for fuller matches, but they've been dragging their heels on this for awhile. Put Mr. Barrett in a few new feuds for a few months. I am sure revisiting this one with Kofi in say a year and a half from now would make more sense. I would actually love to see Wade Barrett go against Antonio Cesaro for a few rounds. Make it title vs title for a bit, elevating both titles in the process.
And speaking of something I don't care to see... I've admitted in the past that I really like Johnny Curtis, but I think this new Fandango dancer thing is just too much. What the hell is it with the WWE and singing/dancing?

What I would like to see in WWE...
The Royal Rumble is like a week away. Roughly, as I think it's this weekend actually. And this is what I'd like to see happen...even though it looks as if I won't be able to actually get the ppv... but anyways.
1. If Kassius Ohno and Leo Kruger are not yet part of the ppv, they should be. Either as members of the 30 man rumble or as a tag team for part of a #1 contenders match for the tag belts. Actually, I'd love to see Leo Kruger get the rumble. That would prove to be interesting.
2. The Shield will start to break apart I think after the rumble. I'd still like to see Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins as a two man tag team. Honestly, I'm not thrilled with Dean Ambrose, being in the group. As a fan, to me the dynamic is off.
3. Speaking of Rollins, I was fairly pissed off when I saw that he lost the NXT belt so soon. And to Big E... seriously? Are the writers on crack? Give Rollins back the NXT belt.
4. Bo Dallas vs anyone else with long hair in a hair vs hair match. I have no idea who told the wrestling industry that long hair on a man over the age of 15 was cool or hot or what have you, but really now, hair cuts please.
5. And that brings me to Wade Barrett. I would love to see him ... or should I say hear him... do commentary for a few episodes of Smackdown. Just for the hell of it.

Did anyone else hear about this?
Wade Barrett is going to be in a movie. With Dominic Cooper.
I'm digging on this information. If anyone might remember one of my many babblings few years ago, (this post) I said I could totally see him becoming a lead in movies.
I've also commented elsewhere on the internet that I happen to think he looks very much like another hot British actor, Richard Armitage. Hands up if you agree with me.
While I'm posting... Speaking of Wade Barrett, and I'm digging on the haircut and beard. I putting it in writing that I think he'll have the World Heavyweight Championship before the end of 2013. Hopefully by the summer.
